updated July 6, 2015, 4:52 a.m. - FIRE broke out Sunday night at the St. Raymund de Peñafort building inside the University of Santo Tomas.

According to Reynaldo Marcelino, deputy chief of the Manila Fire Department, fire started around 8:40 p.m. in the building that houses the College of Commerce and Business Administration and the Faculty of Arts and Letters.

The fire department arrived around 9:12 p.m. when fire was already at the fourth alarm, Marcelino said. Firemen declared fire out around 10 p.m.

The Central Student Council said on its Twitter account that fire started at the fourth floor, in Room 405, where there was a pantry. Rooms 403, 405, 407, and 409 were affected by the fire, it added.

Room 407 housed the offices of the Commerce dean, regent, secretary, and office staff. Room 409 was the office for department chairpersons.

The University's official Facebook page said "Only a small portion of the fourth floor was damaged."

In a statement, the administration said classes in the building would be suspended on July 6, but offices would be opened.

…NO ELECTRICITY & PHONES FOR 5 HOURS ON JULY 30

Metro-wide quake drill set on July 30

By Mike Frialde, The Philippine Star

Posted at 05/28/2015 9:41 AM

MANILA - A metro-wide earthquake drill will be held on July 30 as part of the government’s preparations for a possible 7.2 magnitude tremor, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) said yesterday.

Electricity and mobile phone services would be cut throughout the metropolis. All private and government offices as well as businesses, including shopping malls would be closed between 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. to simulate the scenario of a 7.2 magnitude earthquake.

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology has warned that an earthquake of that magnitude could occur and kill at least 33,500 people and injure at least 113,600 others following a movement in the West Valley Fault.

>The President took a swipe at the Ramos, Estrada and Arroyo administrations for allegedly allowing Isabela folk to suffer for 20 years by not replacing the Lullutan spillway bridge.

>Speaking during the inauguration of the bridge in Ilagan City, the President wondered, “why were our people here made to suffer for 20 years?”

>“Maybe you can ask those who were ahead of me why it took 20 years,” Mr. Aquino said, obviously referring to Presidents Fidel V. Ramos, Joseph Estrada and Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.

The Tangalogista Peenoise-Chinese yellowtard mestizo trash exceeded GMArroyo's record as "the Failipino president who travelled abroad the longest time".

Apparently her name is the only many-years-old search result listed on [search engines] when searching for "most peripatetic head of state in the world" Philippines. Why wasn't this fact updated?

Wish there was a fact-checking website about all past/present Failipino jetset fooliticians' visits/travels to [other countries].
